Cannery Row Quarter

The old, scenic DIY Cannery Row quarter is a cool local spot that guarantees some pretty insane photo opportunity. At the very North end of Cannery Row, just before Dos Victoria's Mexican Food on the ocean side of the street, there’s a big abandoned building/lot that’s surrounded by an aged chain link fence and a few no trespassing signs. If you hop the fence and are walking towards the water, the quarter pipe is located on the left side of the abandoned building. It’s sculpted up against the side of the concrete building and sits on a sizeable concrete slab fronting the ocean. Going up the side of the building, the quarter pipe pretty much allows you to ride up as high as your speed will take you, and it becomes completely vertical. It’s a pretty rough quarter and concrete slab as great age has taken its toll. There are chips and cracks in the concrete and it definitely isn’t the smoothest ground, but it’s a cool spot to visit as many people don’t know that it’s there. As creative as you may be able to get with this spot, the real highlight is the photo opportunity and the spectacular view that surrounds it.
