Old Folks Ledge

Though you’ll find countless ledges to skate on your journeys throughout Monterey, the long, red, ledges right in front of Sunrise Living in Monterey are some fun ones. These two ledges parallel on both sides of the sidewalk are formed by what is basically a planter box. They start low, get higher, and then back down low, kinda like a rainbow. The ledge on the left hand side is a bit longer and taller than the one on the right, but both grind very smooth and quickly. The ledges are located on a bit of a downhill that undoubtedly steepens as you skate further down Cass Street. There isn’t a whole lot to say about these ledges, but their rainbow-like shape and location on top of Cass Street make them a pretty fun skate and a spot well worthy of visiting. You can bomb Cass Street after hitting Sunrise Ledges and that puts you right into central Monterey which means easy access to just about any other spot you could possibly want to skate. Cass Street is also a pretty straight shot to the skatepark!
