Prescott Hill Bomb

Prescott Avenue is one of the main streets feeding onto Lighthouse Avenue from Pacific Grove. It starts below Safeway in PG and goes all the way down to Cannery Row on a straight shot. About a quarter of the way down the street where Prescott intersects Grace Street, there’s a fairly renowned hill bomb with a speed radar at the bottom to check how fast you’re going. The main section of hill starts as a steep decline, levels out for about 20 feet, and then banks back into another steep slope. It’s wicked fast and is super fun to see which of your homies can go the fastest down the hill as your speed clearly flashes in front of your eyes on a digital sign to the skaters right. Make sure you have a spotter for this hill bomb! There are a number of side streets that intersect it and there are a lot of impatient drivers who don’t mind blowing stop signs, so be careful. After the main hill bomb, if you keep following Prescott down towards Cannery Row, you’ll run right into On the Beach Surf Shop on the right side of the street right on the corner of Prescott and Lighthouse. You’ll also find a number of eateries, bars, and plenty of other skate spots in the area that can easily be skated to. If you like hill bombs for breakfast, Prescott Avenue isn’t a bad place to start your day.
