GOOD EATS

Boardwalk Subs

Boardwalk Subs is a fairly new local sandwich shop located at the top of Alvarado Street. They offer everything from paninis to full sized subs, and everything they make is delicious. You can’t go wrong ordering from Boardwalk Subs whether it be for lunch or for dinner. They’re open fairly late and create some of the best skate fuel in all of Monterey. If you’re lucky, you might see a Monterey Skatepark Loc whipping up your sandwich in the back or maybe even taking your order. Check this place out, it’s the BOMB.

T-Zone

TZone is a brand new tea shop that recently opened up on Alvarado Street right in downtown Monterey. They make boba, smoothies, milkshakes, slushes, and pretty much anything you can think of that’s tea related. It’s worth the stop if you’re in the mood for some tea or are a boba connoisseur. Come get some bev at TZONE.

Alvarado St. Brewery

Alvarado Street Brewery is more of a sit down type of restaurant/bar. They have tons of beer, awesome food, and present a super positive and friendly vibe. If you stop in the brewery at anytime of the day, you are BOUND to see some Monterey Park Locs, and if it’s happy hour (5:00 PM) you are 100% guaranteed to. Stop in and have a brew with some local skaters and enjoy a burger while you’re at it. Alvarado Street Brewery is the sh!t!

Monterey Rec. Trail

The Monterey Recreational Trail is a coastal trail that starts in Sand City and goes all the way to Lovers Point in Pacific Grove, and fortunately for us, it's skateable the entire way. It's a super convenient pathway that you're bound to come across at one point or another if you're traveling to Monterey. Though you'll see mainly bikers and pedestrians on the Rec Trail, it's the perfect touring path for a large majority of the skate spots that are in Monterey; it's pretty much a skateboarders highway that has unlimited exits to different skate spots. You'll likely use the Monterey Coastal Recreational Trail a whole lot in your peninsula adventures, so embrace the gorgeous views and realize how lucky you are to be skating in such a beautiful place, because you are!
